You Beauty Discovery Box | October 2015

You Beauty Discovery October 2015
Revlon Colour stay Gel Envy Pocket Aces

I didn't write about last months box because I wasn't overwhelmed with the contents, but this month… its a different story!
If you don't already know, You Beauty Discovery is a monthly beauty subscription box costing £6.95 (including postage). Each month you get to choose two products from a shortlist to receive in the box and then you also get a few extra samples as well. This month I opted for the Scentered Stress Less Therapy Balm and the Revlon Colour Stay Gel Envy Longwear Nail Enamel. The products included in this months box were;

1) Scentered Stress Less Therapy Balm, Full Size 5g £14.50

I have been feeling rather stressed lately, what with moving back to University and starting my third year, so I decided to try this product to see whether it help calm me down when I'm feeling anxious. This balm has scents of camomile, neroli and mandarin which help to create a lovely soothing aroma. I actually find this product smells like a Terry's chocolate orange, which I actually love (even if it does make me crave chocolate!). I'm very happy that this product was full size so that I can give it a good go and see whether it helps me at all.

I love receiving nail varnishes in beauty boxes, so I jumped at the chance to try the Revlon polishes which are supposed to be similar to having a gel manicure. On the website it stated that the shades may vary, however I never envisaged that I would receive a bright pink (Pocket Aces). I do actually love the colour and it's definitely something I would wear in the Summer, just not at this time of year unfortunately! I would have preferred to have received a nude or darker colour. I applied one coat to my nails yesterday and the colour was very opaque and had a lovely gloss after using the Diamond Top Coat and dried quickly. However, the polish chipped pretty much straight away which was rather disappointing! I'll have to apply two coats in future and see whether it affects the longevity, but at the moment I haven't got high hopes!

3) Vichy Dermablend Fluid Corrective Foundation 16H, Full Size 30ml £18, Sample Size 1ml £0.60 each

I received two shades of this foundation, 25 nude and 15 opal. I think 25 nude will be too dark for me so I'm hoping that 15 opal is a match! This foundation is supposed to cover up skin imperfections and create a flawless base which lasts 16 hours. This foundation has been formulated to be non-comedogenic, so it shouldn't clog my pores and therefore prevent any breakouts occuring.

I received two samples of The White Company Fragrance, Day and Night. The 'Day' scent has notes of Bergamot, Apple and Jasmine, whereas the 'Night' scent has notes of Pomegranate, Cassis and Patchouli. I prefer the 'Night' fragrance out of them both as it's very sophisticated and includes one of my favourite scents which is Patchouli! I think the 'Night' fragrance will definitely be going on my christmas list this year *hint hint*

I was really impressed with this months box and it has restored my faith in You Beauty Discovery! The overall worth of this box was £ 29.68, which is craaaaaaazy considering the box only cost £6.95!

  1. Great selection! I really like the Dermablend foundation, but their lightest shade only works for me in the summer when I have a "tan" (#palegirlproblems!). Love the sound of both of the White Company fragrances!
