On Saturday I had the pleasure of attending my first ever blogging event hosted by the lovely Daisy in Bury St Edmunds at The LP. The LP is a restaurant/bar/music venue and Daisy has hired the top floor so it was the perfect location to hold a bloggers event as the room was very spacious and allowed us to mingle.
On arrival, the first thing I noticed was this beautiful cake and biscuits (pictured above) which were all decorated with 'Suffolk Blogger Meet'. I picked one of the biscuits up and vowed to save it for when I got home… unfortunately, it didn't make the train journey! *holds head in shame* (it was very tasty though so thank you My Foodie Days). There were lots of flavoured coconut waters dotted around the room by Life Tonics, which tasted fab! I tried the Elderberry and Juniper concoction and it was delicious! The drinks are all natural too and only contains coconut water, natural fruit extracts and stevia.
Next up, I noticed various stations with little items to pick up like miniature Twig and Dot candles, chocolates by Hotel Chocolat, Cookie cutters by Sass and Belle and Ghostie Marshmallow pops. There was also an amazing raffle table with prizes ranging from Benefit products to a Dress by Jones and Jones. Luck must have been on my side on Saturday because I won two, yes TWO prizes! I was lucky enough to win a personalised illustration by Helen Hird (a fellow blogger and attendee of the Suffolk Blogger Meet) and also a Rapid Lash Eyelash Enhancing Serum and Rapid Shield Eyelash Daily Conditioner. All of the proceeds of the raffle are going to Woman's Aid, which is an amazing charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children.
It was great to see so many brands at the event also, some even local! Ivy Joan was the first stall I stopped at and had a lovely chat with the director! Ivy Joan sells quirky homeware pieces and also stocks Vera Moda. There was a lovely selection of Vera Moda garments to have a look at and I nearly came home with *another* waistcoat (pictured below). I'm obsessed with anything with my initial on, so I was literally gasping when lots of the products on sale could be personalised. I fell in love with the Santa Russian Dolls (pictured below) but I didn't pick them up whilst I was there (which I seriously regret!) so i'm definitely going to have to make an online order! The cards on sale also caught my eye because they were so unique and made me chuckle (my favourite is pictured below). I'll be doing a separate post on Ivy Joan so keep an eye out for that soon!
The Charity Candle Company (pictured below) also had a stall at the event and the idea behind the company is great! They donate a percentage of the sale of the candle to a charity (which can be chosen by you when you place the order). The company is currently supporting the Royal British Legion, The Dogs Trust, Teenage Cancer Trust and Each (East Anglia's Children's Hospices). Prices start at £2.50 for a mini jar and there is a variety of scents to choose from. My personal favourite was the Spiced Orange scent which has hints of orange, cinnamon and clove, definitely perfect for Christmas!
Odylique were also showcasing their wonderful natural skincare and makeup products (pictured below). It was great to hear about their different products and I especially liked the look of their Superfruit Concentrate, which is a serum containing organic rose hip oil, sea buckthorn, pomegranate and avocado which moisturises and brightens the skin whilst also promoting cell renewal. The makeup selection caught my eye and it was great to see all natural lipsticks!
Lipivir was another brand that I had the chance to talk to and it was fascinating to learn about a new cold sore prevention cream, which contains no pharmaceutical ingredients nor cortisone.
Yoohoo Mail is a new monthly stationary subscription box which costs just £12.00 plus postage. Inside the box is lots of goodies from birthday cards to weekly to do lists! I adore stationary so this box is right up my street. It was lovely chatting to Gemma, who owns the company and designs the items also! Definitely look at the website if you think you'd like to subscribe as the October box is still available to purchase.
One of my favourite tables at the event was the 'Selfie' table where there were lots of moustaches and things to play around with. I had such an amazing day and met some lovely people-Christie, Lucy, Hannah, Emily, Sabine, Gemma and Kirsty, to name just a few! The goodie bag (pictured below) was incredible and was filled to the brim with goodies! I'll be doing a separate post on all of the items so look out for that in the future too!
I think its safe to say that the event was a huge success so i'd like to thank Daisy again for organising it and for getting so many amazing brands involved! I'm already hoping there will be another #SuffolkBloggerMeet in the near future so I can do it all over again *hint hint*
xo
